List of French idioms
The French language knows a variety of idioms , including phraseologism , idioms or idiomatic expressions. It is a special case of collocation ; This consists of a combination of words ("fixed word combination ") , the meaning of which - mostly due to the country-specific, historical or cultural context - is not immediately apparent to the foreign-language reader or listener.
