Betty Bird

Betty Bird , born in Hilde Elisabeth Ptack (born June 18, 1901 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † March 4, 1998 in Rome , Italy ) was an Austrian film actress .

Life

Hilde Elisabeth Ptack, daughter of Ludwig Ptack, came into contact with film people at an early age, as her father was the private secretary of the owner of the Sascha film factory. On December 23, 1923 she married the cameraman and later film director Gustav Ucicky .

In 1927 she received her first film role as the “Vienna Film Beauty Queen”. Betty Bird, as she called herself now, moved with her husband to Munich and then to Berlin. In the role of a lovable girl, she was seen mostly in film comedies in the late 1920s and early 1930s , without attracting special attention.

The marriage with Ucicky was divorced in August 1936. On December 23, 1937, she married the Czech dentist Hruska in Rome. She died in Rome on March 4, 1998.
