Betulio González

Betulio González (* 24. October 1949 in Maracaibo , Venezuela ) is a former Venezuelan boxer in the flyweight .

Professional career

On June 3, 1972, he boxed against Sócrates Batoto for the WBC World Championship and won by classic knockout in round 4. However, he lost this belt in his first title defense to Venice Borkhorsor in September of the same year by knockout.

On August 4th of the following year he won this belt again when he beat Miguel Canto by majority decision. In October 1974 he lost the title against Canto in the rematch by split point decision.

On August 12, 1978 Gonzalez won the WBA world championship belt with a points win against Guty Espadas . After three consecutive title defenses, he lost the belt in November of the following year against Luis Ibarra by unanimous decision.
