The Beumer Group GmbH & Co. KG , based in Beckum , is an international machine and plant engineering company with a focus on intralogistics and conveyor systems . Together with Beumer Group A / S, the Beumer Group employed around 4,000 people in 2016. The group of companies generated an annual turnover of around 750 million euros. The company has branches on all continents and processes its exports with agencies in 70 countries.
The products range from various conveyor systems, systems for piece goods and bulk goods, palletizing technology to packaging technology, with appropriate packaging machines, sorting and distribution systems. The most important industries include baggage handling systems, beverages & food, building materials industry, chemical industry, post & parcel as well as warehouse & logistics.
Company history
Bernhard Beumer founded the company in 1935. In 1977 it expanded to the USA (Beumer Corporation), 1983 to Australia (Beumer Australia, in Adelaide) and in 1993 to South America (Beumer Latinoamericana Equipamentos Ltda. In Campinas, Brazil). Sorting and distribution systems have been marketed directly in the USA by Beumer Corporation since 1994. With the establishment of the subsidiary Beumer Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. the second production site opened in China in 2006. On August 28, 2009, Beumer took over all the shares in Crisplant a / s, based in Aarhus, Denmark from the previous owner, Melrose Plc. In 2011, Beumer took over Enexco Teknologies India Limited, thereby expanding its position in the cement industry.
Holdings
In September 2012, Beumer acquired the majority stake in Indec Airport Automation (IAA). The airport supplier based in Bree, Belgium, manufactures products for the automatic loading of baggage onto aircraft.
