District rabbinate Bad Ems

The district rabbinate of Bad Ems , based in Bad Ems , the district town of the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was established in 1851 when the district rabbinate of Langenschwalbach was relocated to Bad Ems.

In 1925, the previously independent rabbinical districts Bad Ems and Weilburg were merged to form the rabbinical district Bad Ems and Weilburg .

District rabbi

Rabbi Benjamin Höchstätter (1811–1888) officiated in Langenschwalbach from 1848 and then in Bad Ems.

His successor from 1885 to 1889 was Max Kopfstein (1856-1924), who was appointed to Beuthen that year . He was succeeded by Laser Weingarten (1863–1937) from 1890 to 1931 . From 1931 to 1939 the last rabbi was Friedrich Laupheimer (1890–1965), who emigrated to Palestine in 1939 .
