Laser vineyard
Laser Weingarten (born January 5, 1863 in Felsberg (Hesse) ; died April 6, 1937 in Bad Ems ) was a German rabbi .

He first attended the Jewish elementary school in his hometown before moving to the Lyceum Fridericianum in Kassel . At Easter 1883 he finished his high school in Trier with the Abitur. Studies at the rabbinical school and the university in Berlin followed . He completed this on January 27, 1888 with a dissertation at the University of Halle on a biblical topic. This was followed by a two-year study visit to Russia and, in February 1890, the takeover of the district rabbinate in Bad Ems and Nassau , from 1851 Benjamin Höchstätterand from 1886 on Max Kopfstein had led. In the last years of his work he also looked after the rabbinical district of Weilburg . In 1918 he was awarded the Cross of Merit for War Aid. In 1931 he retired. Friedrich Laupheimer took over his office as district rabbi . Laser Weingarten's grave is in the Jewish cemetery in Bad Ems .

- Member of the German Reich Association of Jewish Religious Teachers
- 1892 co-founder of the Emser Heilquelle sanatorium for Jews in need of health care who are socially disadvantaged
- around 1894 board member of the German-Israelite Children's Home Association in Diez
- Founder in 1897 and chairman until 1931 of the Central Orphanage and Girls' Home Association in Bad Ems , where he also gave religious instruction. After Weingarten's death, the orphanage was converted into a retirement and rest home for Jewish teachers, cantors and social workers.
- during the First World War he taught mathematics at the secondary school on behalf of a drafted teacher
- Co-founder of the Eintracht Lodge Koblenz
