Tahara house

The Tahara House was built around 1881, as a plaque attached inside the hall shows, and expanded in 1929 at the instigation of Ludolf Rosenheim. A commemorative plaque with the following inscription still exists today : Erected in memory of my parents Louis and Lina Rosenheim, who are resting here, in 1929, Ludolf Rosenheim, Berlin . The Tahara House used to be used as a Jewish mourning hall as well as for washing corpses. Today there is a cooperation between the city of Bad Ems, the regional association of Jewish communities in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Bad Ems community foundation and the Nassauer Land dean's office, which serves to secure the building fabric and restore the Tahara house. Schools and parishes deal with the history of the Tahara Hall, which is also a regular venue for commemorative events.
