Jewish cemetery (Bornich)
The Jewish cemetery of Bornich in the Rhine-Lahn district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ) is located in a clearing in the Haushecker forest on the border of the Bornich district to Reichenberg and Reitzenhain .

The Bornich cemetery was the common cemetery for the Jewish communities of Bornich, Bogel , Ruppertshofen , St. Goarshausen and Welterod on the right bank of the Rhine and for the communities of St. Goar and Werlau on the left bank of the Rhine .

The cemetery forms a rectangle of over 3,000 m² and is enclosed by a fence and a deep ditch. A transition leads to the main gate, which is flanked by two sandstone posts. The year 1887 can be read on both posts, while the year 1724 could be deciphered on a tombstone. About 80 stones have survived, some of which have German inscriptions in addition to the Hebrew ones . All stones have been erected and are in good condition, the entire cemetery area is very well maintained.
