The Jewish cemetery Diez is a cemetery in the town of Diez in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .

The Jewish cemetery is located to the east not far from the Lahn on Fachinger Weg behind house no.4.

In the 1927 m² cemetery, which was laid out at the end of the 19th century and occupied from 1895 to 1930, there are 33 (according to other sources 60) tombstones on 59 graves. The oldest gravestone is from 1896.

In the old Jewish cemetery, which was occupied from the 17th century to 1895, no tombstones have been preserved. It was located "Am Hain" between Parkstrasse and Panoramaweg, but can no longer be seen there. During the Nazi era it was cleared and leveled. In 1935/37 the site was partly used as a construction site for the new building of the tax office, in 1953 an additional residential building (Dr. Imhof House, later House Röse, Panoramaweg 2) was built.

Desecration of the cemetery at the end of 1908

At the end of 1908, one of the two Jewish cemeteries was desecrated . Four tombstones were knocked over and smashed and the inscriptions were completely destroyed. It is not known which of the two cemeteries it is.
