Biagio De Giovanni

Biagio De Giovanni (born December 21, 1931 in Naples ) is an Italian philosopher , university professor and politician .

De Giovanni studied philosophy at the University of Naples . He taught as a professor at the universities in Bari , Salerno and at the "Orientale" in Naples. His focus areas include political philosophy and the history of political doctrines. He was rector of the University of Naples "L'Orientale" and dean of the Faculty of Political Science there. He was a member of the European Parliament in the legislative period from 1989 to 1994 and again from 1994 to 1999 .
