Bianca Ambrosetti

Bianca Ambrosetti (born March 1, 1914 in Pavia , † 1929 in Modena ) was an Italian gymnast who won the silver medal in the team all-around at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam .

Life

Born in 1914 in Pavia, in southwestern Lombardy , Ambrosetti took part in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam as a member of the 12-man Italian women's gymnastics team, where she won the silver medal in the team all-around with the eleven other girls from the province of Pavia won. During the Olympic Games she was a member of the Italian reserve selection. On their return to Italy, each of the twelve gymnasts of the very young team - the oldest participant was only 16 years old - received a pair of plastic trainers and a savings account with 100 lire as recognition. Ambrosetti, who was already suffering from tuberculosis while attending the Olympics , died the following year at the age of 15 in Modena. Like her eleven teammates, she belonged to the Società Ginnastica Pavese, founded in 1879 and still in existence today .
