The Bibersberg is a wooded granite mountain in the inner Fichtelgebirge plateau with a height of 597 m above sea level. NN . It is located east of the town of Marktleuthen in the Wunsiedel district in the Fichtel Mountains ( Bavaria ).
geology
Porphyry granite (G1) was once mined in two abandoned quarries on the western slope . They belong to the protected geotopes . The Bibersbach forms a narrow valley with granite rock formations there, one of which is called the royal seat .
Tourist development
The Marktleuthener Haus ( 50 ° 7 ′ 28 ″ N , 12 ° 1 ′ 12.3 ″ E ) is located on the northern slope of the mountain , a hiking home of the Fichtelgebirgsverein, Marktleuthen local group. Circular hiking trails open up the landscape, and an access path to the Franconian Mountain Trail begins there .
