Bible Adventures is a Christian - themed platform game collection from Wisdom Tree that was first released for Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991 . In 1995 there was a re-release for the Sega Mega Drive . The game is loosely based on three stories from the Bible .

Game content

The game consists of three parts based on stories from the Old Testament .

Noah's Ark

In the episode Noahs Ark , Noah has to collect one male and one female animal of each species within four levels and bring them to the ark. Noah's health can be reduced by snakes in the trees. On the other hand , if Noah finds a Bible verse or a game tip, his health will be replenished.

Baby moses

Mirjam , Moses' sister, wants to save her brother Moses from being murdered by Pharaoh's soldiers . For this reason, she brings her brother to the Nile to put him in a wicker basket and thus save him from certain death. However, it is awaited by the soldiers who try to throw Moses into the Nile . Should Mirjam reach the goal without her brother, the player receives the text "Good work, but you forgot Baby Moses" and has to play it through again.

This part of the game is similar to Super Mario Bros. 2 , in which Mario carries vegetables around in a similar way to Moses.

David and Goliath

In David and Goliath , the player takes on the role of David trying to bring his lost sheep home to the stable. The concept of this part is actually based on the first part of the game. However, after this section, the player has the opportunity to armed with a slingshot Goliath and defeat him.

Background information

For the title screen, the game uses the melody of Jesus remain my joy by Johann Sebastian Bach . The game reached 19th place in the Seanbaby ranking Crapstravaganza: The 20 Worst Games of All Time , which was published in Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine and on the Internet. The game was also featured by the Angry Video Game Nerd in its Christmas special, Bible Games . The game was later implemented for the PC.
