Bikenibeu is the westernmost part of Bonriki

Bikenibeu is the western elongated area and the largest settlement on the island of Bonriki off South Tarawa of the Tarawa Atoll . Bonriki is part of the capital South Tarawa of the island state Kiribati, which extends even further to the west .

It is part of a chain of islands connected by navigable dams. To the west of Bikenibeu is the island of Eita ; it is 18 km away from Bairiki and 23 km from Betio . Bikenibeu is 1 m above sea level. According to the 2005 census, it has 6,170 inhabitants with an increasing tendency in the population center of southern Tarawas.

Bikenibeu is home to the Tungaru Central Hospital (Kiribati Hospital) and the Te umanibong Culture Museum , which mainly displays handicrafts and other cultural and historical objects.

To the northeast of Bikenibeu is Kiribati's largest airport, Bonriki International Airport .
