Bile (Celtic mythology)
Bile applicable in the Celtic-/ Irish mythology of Lebor Gabála Érenn as the father Mileds , the ancestor of the Gaels and is apparently with the Welsh Beli (see Beli Mawr ) identical. The Cymric etymon of Beli is by law the Irish bile, but there is no convincing etymology for either form. There is also a connection with the names of the festival Beltane and the deities Belenus and Belisama .
A Celtic root * bil- or * bel- , which means "shine", "shine", "shine", is probably the basis of all these forms.
