Sylvia Botheroyd

Sylvia Botheroyd (born February 23, 1944 in Basel ) is a German-Swiss university professor, writer and translator.

Life

Sylvia Botheroyd was born in Basel, attended school there and studied English, German and history there until 1972. She then gave English lessons in schools until 1985. At the same time, she pursued teaching positions at the Ruhr University Bochum , from 1972 to 1987 initially for English studies, literary studies and translation, and since 1993 for film and television studies. She has published numerous translations, and since 1985 she has been writing art and travel guides together with her husband, Paul F. Botheroyd.
