Bill Bradley (cyclist)
William "Bill" Bradley (born March 30, 1933 in Walkden , † June 30, 1997 in Southport ) was a British cyclist .
Bill Bradley was considered one of the best British road drivers in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Twice - in 1959 and 1960 - he won the British Milk Race , having finished second in 1958. In 1960 and 1961 he was British amateur road champion , in 1964 he won the Tour of the Peaks and in 1965 the Tour of the Southwest . On the Tour of Austria in 1957, he became the Großglockner King , ie he was the first to cross the Großglockner on the stage.
In 1960 Bradley started in the road race of the Olympic Games in Rome and finished 36th.
His association, the "Southport Cycling Club", organizes the "Bill Bradley Memorial Ride" for everyone , the profits of which are donated to charity. In December 2009 Bradley was among the first to be honored in the British Cycling Hall of Fame .
