British Cycling Hall of Fame
The British Cycling Hall of Fame was established in 2009. The occasion was the 50th anniversary of the British cycling association British Cycling .
On December 17, 2009, the names of the first 50 athletes to be accepted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame were announced. 300 cyclists were nominated. The jury consisted of Victoria Pendleton (athlete), Brian Cookson (athlete and official), William Fotheringham (journalist and author), Robert Garbutt (journalist), Peter King (official) and Hugh Porter (athlete and journalist).
In August 2011, the Hall of Fame exhibition opened at the Manchester Velodrome . The track cyclist Reg Harris , whose statue can also be seen in the Velodrome, was recorded on this occasion .
In October 2016, seven other members were in the Hall of Fame added, including the controversial sports director of British Cycling , Dave Brailsford .
