Bill Knox
Bill Knox , actually William Knox (* 1928 in Glasgow ; † March 1999 ibid), was a Scottish writer , journalist and editor at television.
Life
In 1944, at the age of 16, Knox became a journalist for a Glasgow daily newspaper. From the beginning, criminology and cars focus of his reports.
In the early 1950s, Knox began writing crime novels with great success . He wrote his over 50 novels under his own name, but also used pseudonyms such as Michael Kirk , Robert MacLeod and Noah Webster .
From 1972 Knox worked for Scottish Television ( STV ). He ran a monthly program for over ten years (similar to Police 5 ) calling on people to help solve crimes in Scotland. Knox also developed the Tales of Crime for the STV , in which he reported in detail about famous crimes from Scotland.
Knox could not finish his last novel The Lazarus Widow ; this then took over the writer Martin Edwards .
A film adaptation of his crime novel Schlafwagen nach Glasgow was broadcast on ZDF in 1981 under the title Robbery in Glasgow with Götz George in the leading role .
