Billy MacKinnon (film producer)
Billy MacKinnon (* 5. January 1953 in Glasgow as William MacKinnon ) is a British screenwriter , film producer and writer .
life and career
He wrote and produced films such as Sweetie , Small Faces (with his brother Gillies MacKinnon ) and Marrakech . He edited numerous feature film scripts, including Jane Campion's Das Piano, and won several international film awards such as Best British Film in Edinburgh and the Rotterdam Tiger for Best European Film . As a producer and author, he also had two feature films in the official competition in Cannes . His last short film script Elevator - The Lift , directed by Emily Kuhnke, won the Wild Rose Award for Best Screenplay at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival 2013 .
