Bilyana Island ( English ; Bulgarian остров Биляна ostrow Biljana ; in the United Kingdom Willett Island ) is a 450 m long and 290 m wide island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the group of Aitcho Islands in the English Strait , it is located 70 m south of Jorge Island , 1.85 km north-northwest of Barrientos Island and 1.45 km northeast of Emeline Island .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it that same year after a term for Bulgarian folklore music . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 after the cartographer Andrew Willett of the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office , who had headed the International Hydrographic Organization's working group on hydrographic surveying of Antarctica for ten years .
