Biology model maker is a profession that deals with the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of biological models.

In Germany, biology model maker is a recognized profession with a three-year training under the Vocational Training Act and is offered in industry.

They make models of bones, entire skeletons, organs, plants, animals, etc. in different scales. The models are used as demonstration and teaching aids in schools, universities and other training centers.

You work with different materials such as wood, metal, plaster of paris, wax or plastic.

Trained biology model makers can also work in other, similar areas such as toy manufacturers or mannequin manufacturers as well as in the plastics industry.
