Wooden toy maker
The wooden toy maker is a state-recognized training occupation according to the German Vocational Training Act and the German Crafts Code . It was developed in Seiffen after the reunification of Germany as a successor to the training available in the GDR as a skilled worker for wooden toys .
Duration of training and structure
The training period to become a wooden toy maker is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .
Work areas
Wooden toy makers make wooden toys as well as wooden handicrafts . The main focus of the apprenticeship is in the Ore Mountains , where Ore Mountain folk art is produced. Wooden toy makers design and design their products, operate woodworking machines and perform turning work in long and cross timber. They carve figures, coat surfaces, and paint and decorate wood products.
