Mirriwinni (formerly Miriwinni ) is a small town in the Australian state of Queensland with 206 inhabitants (as of 2016).

The place is south of Cairns and north of Innisfail , at the foot of the 1,622 meter high Mount Bartle Frere , the highest mountain in Queensland. It is believed that the place name is derived from the Aboriginal word merriwinno, which means mountain rock. After the Second World War , the place was only written with an "r" for unknown reasons and renamed again in 2010.

The triathlete Brad Beven was born in Mirriwinni in 1969 .
