Brad Beven (born September 18, 1969 in Mirriwinni ) is a former Australian triathlete . He was one of the best triathletes of the 1990s on the short distance, is a four-time World Cup winner and three-time vice world champion.

Career

Brad Beven started triathlon when he was 13. In August 1989 he started at the first edition of the Triathlon World Championship and finished sixth in Avignon .

In 1990 he finished second at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland (New Zealand) (behind Rick Wells ).

Brad Beven was able to win 19 World Cup races during his playing days and from 1992 to 1995 won the ITU Triathlon World Cup four times in a row .
He is five-time Australian champion and was runner-up in the triathlon short distance in 1990, 1994 and again in 1995 (Olympic distance: 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running).

In 2006 he finished fifth at his last international start in Singapore at the ITU Triathlon Asian Cup .

Today he leads the BBT (Brad Beven Triathlon) team in Brisbane .
