Birker Ley

The Birker Ley is a 377 meter high elevation in Rhineland-Palatinate on the border between Mudersbach - Niederschelderhütte and Siegen - Niederschelden . From this mountain you can see almost all of Siegen, it is accessible today via the SchieferErzEisen-Weg .

About 80 m below there is a slag dump made of waste products from the Charlottenhütte , which was in operation from 1856 to 1968/69.

Because of the forest, there is only limited visibility from the Birker Ley. The view towards Siegen and Oberschelden is better from the slag dump at the Charlottenhütte.
