The Birla Institute of Technology is a university in Ranchi , India .

history

The BIT was founded by the philanthropist and industrialist BM Birla in 1955 as a training institute for technical professions. It is designed as a campus university . Today it is one of the most recognized technical training institutions in India . The BIT Mesra is ranked among the top ten of all Indian engineering colleges in reviews by magazines such as India Today , Outlook (magazine) etc.

Students

In 2007, more than 10,000 students study at BIT and its three subsidiary institutes. There are currently around 6,000 alumni registered in the Alumni Club. Tuition fees are Rs. 32,500 for undergraduate programs and Rs. 33,000 for the Architecture degree.

Overseas offshoots

The FOITT has founded three branches . The first was founded in 2000 together with Md. Jalal & Sons Group in Bahrain . This facility is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education & the Ministry of Labor of the Government of Bahrain. Diploma and Bachelor courses are offered in computer science, electrical and communications engineering and production engineering. In addition, programs for software development and business administration have recently been set up.

The second facility was established in 2001 in Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman . The Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences conducts its teaching in cooperation with the BIT.

The third branch in the United Arab Emirates was recently established. The Birla Institute of Technology International Center (BITIC) there began teaching in the 2005/2006 academic year at the Royal College of Applied Science & Technology in Ra's al-Khaimah , United Arab Emirates .

All three facilities are operated under the academic supervision of the FOITT.
