The Starwings Basket Regio Basel are a Swiss basketball club from Birsfelden , a suburb of Basel . The successful men's team has played in the A-season of the national basketball league since 2005 . Most recently they were Swiss Cup winners in 2010 .
history
The organization, which emerged from the two associations BC Arlesheim and CVJM Birsfelden, was founded in 2002. Up until their promotion, the Starwings Baskets played in the National League B, from 2005 in the National League A. The Starwings are currently the only professional basketball team from German-speaking Switzerland .
