history
The Bismarckhütte as a steelworks was founded on September 23, 1872 by the " Kattowitzer AG für Hüttenbau ".
The municipality of Bismarckhütte was created on April 1, 1903 from the municipality of Ober- and Niederheiduk by Royal Prussian regulation.
The community of Bismarckhütte had 22,687 inhabitants in 1910.
After the First World War , as one of the most efficient sheet metal rolling mills in Germany at the time, the ironworks entered into a community of interests with the Lübeck-based company Stanz- und Enaillierwerk formerly Carl Thiel & Sons . The Lübeck plant was put in a position to increase its efficiency to such an extent that it produced beyond its own needs and also supplied other enamelling plants in its city with the necessary raw materials.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 8,347 eligible voters (64.2%) voted for Germany and 4654 eligible voters (35.8%) for Poland .
As a result of the division of Upper Silesia, Bismarckhütte was assigned to the Polish East Upper Silesia in 1922 as Chorzów Batory .
On June 19, 1922, the Bismarckhütte community was dissolved.
