Hans Wolf Muschallik

Hans Wolf Muschallik (born June 4, 1911 in Bismarckhütte , Upper Silesia , † June 27, 1995 in Düsseldorf ) was a German internist and professional politician.

Life

Muschallik grew up in Krefeld and studied medicine in Freiburg, Jena, Munich and Cologne. In Cologne he passed the state examination in 1936 and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. Until 1938 he worked as an assistant in the pathology department of the University of Cologne and then switched to the Bergmannsheil in Bochum. From 1941 to 1945 Muschallik served in the army (Wehrmacht) , including three and a half years at the front, including as a regimental doctor in Stalingrad .

After the war he settled in Cologne as an internist. In 1950 he was a co-founder of the Association of Resident Non-Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (today's NAV-Virchow Association ) and its first chairman until 1953. From 1952 to 1957, Muschallik was Vice President of the North Rhine Medical Association and a member of the board of the German Medical Association . In 1961 he became chairman of the North Rhine National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians , second in 1968 and first chairman of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians from 1969 to 1985 . In 1972 he founded the Central Institute for Statutory Health Insurance.
