The Diocese of Leeuwarden ( Latin Dioecesis Leowardensis ) was in the Netherlands situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Leeuwarden .
history
The diocese of Leeuwarden was established on May 12, 1559 by Pope Paul IV with the Papal Bull Super universas from cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Utrecht . On February 15, 1580 the diocese of Leeuwarden was dissolved.
The diocese of Leeuwarden was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Utrecht as a suffragan .
