The diocese of Ramsbury ( Latin : Dioecesis Lindisfarnensis ) was a Roman Catholic diocese in what is now the United Kingdom , with its seat in Ramsbury .
history
The Diocese of Ramsbury was established in 909 from cessions of territory by the Diocese of Winchester . In 1058 the Bishopric of Ramsbury was merged with the Bishopric of Sherborne . This resulted in the Diocese of Salisbury .
The diocese of Ramsbury was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Canterbury as a suffragan .
In 1969 the Ramsbury diocese was re-established as a titular diocese .
