Bixolon ( kor. 빅솔론 ) is a South Korean printer manufacturer for retail and logistics . The company's headquarters are in Seongnam , about two hours' drive from the capital, Seoul . With around 200 employees in development, sales and production, Bixolon achieved sales of around USD 50 million in 2008 (after around 41 million in 2007). The return after tax is almost 10%.

history

Bixolon is a former division of Samsung Electro-Mechanics and was spun off from the Samsung Group at the end of 2002. The shares are held by the employees; around 20% of the shares were floated on the stock exchange in 2007. The company produces receipt printers for retail , log printers for industry , label printers for logistics and medicine as well as mobile printers for logistics, transport, gastronomy and small businesses, which print delivery notes and invoices from their smartphones .

CEO of Bixolon Co., Ltd. is Kim Hyung-geun ( 김형근 ). The share capital is South Korean won 2.5 billion . The main shareholders are Kim Hyung-geun (17.40%), the state-owned MIC2003-2 Stick Investment Association (5.65%), the directors Oh Jin-seob (4.27%), Park Seong-woo (3, 97%) and Lee Kyu-bok (3.97%). Bixolon is listed on the Korean technology exchange KOSDAQ .

The global market share in 2008 was around 10%. Bixolon is produced in Chungju, South Korea. Around 50 developers and local sales and support offices in Los Angeles and Düsseldorf are responsible for sales together with wholesalers and resellers . The American subsidiary Bixolon America is managed by the Korean Sam Son, the European subsidiary Bixolon Europe GmbH is managed by Kim No-hyun.
