Björn Bjelfvenstam (born February 19, 1929 in Uppsala ) is a Swedish actor .

life and career

Björn Bjelfvenstam took acting lessons from Axel Witzansky and was a student at the Dramatens elevskola drama school from 1951 to 1953 . Having been on stage since the late 1940s, he was an ensemble member at the Malmö Stadsteater from 1953 to 1957 under the direction of Ingmar Bergman . Bjelfvenstam became known to an international audience through four films he made under Bergman's direction during this time. In 1955 he played the son of Gunnar Björnstrand in The Smile of a Summer Night , and two years later he played a serious medical student who hitchhiked with his friends in Wilde Erdbeeren . When he left the Stadsteater, his collaboration with Bergman ended, after which Bjelfvenstam worked at the Vasateatern , among others .

Björn Bjelfvenstam later ended his acting career and initially worked in advertising, then as producer and program manager at Sveriges Radio . In this function he announced the Swedish voting result at the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest . After he had only pursued acting on a part-time basis for a long time, he celebrated a certain comeback as one of the leading actors in the television series Tre kronor in the 1990s .
