Björn Navarin (born September 20, 1975 in Duisburg ) is a German handball trainer and a former handball player . His body length is 1.93 m.
Björn Navarin started playing handball at Viktoria Alpen, his pioneers were the coaches Egon Mevissen and Klaus Wettels. He played for Viktoria up to the B-Jugend before he got to WSV Wuppertal via OSC Rheinhausen . With Wuppertal, the backcourt player rose to the 2nd handball Bundesliga in 1995 , but was also relegated again the following year. Thereupon Navarin was signed by league rivals HSV Düsseldorf . He stayed there for three years before moving to Eintracht Hildesheim in 1999. With the Domstadt team, he even made it to the first handball league in 2000 , where he scored 201 goals in the 2000/01 season; nevertheless his team missed the league. After another year in the second division, Navarin was signed by the first division club VfL Pfullingen in 2002 . With the Pfullingen team he became an absolute top performer and even scored 247 goals in the 2004/05 season, which meant third place in the top scorer list for him. In 2006, however, Pfullingen was also relegated, filed for bankruptcy and was downgraded to the Association League. Navarin then returned to his old club, which was now called HSG Düsseldorf. In the 2006/07 season, however, Navarin completely disappointed, throwing only 45 goals and relegated to the second division for a third time. After a possible move to SVK Salamander Stuttgart failed due to its bankruptcy, Navarin dissolved his contract with the Rhinelander and signed with the Austrian HC Hard . There he won the Austrian Cup in 2008. He then joined the Swiss first division club HSC Suhr Aarau . In the summer of 2010 he became a player-coach there. In the following season he moved to STV Baden. There he ended his career after the 2013/14 season and took over as coach from STV Baden.
