Bjørnsund is an archipelago in the Northern European Sea and belongs to the municipality of Hustadvika in the Norwegian province of Møre og Romsdal .

It is located about four kilometers west of the mainland village of Bud in the southern end of the Hustadvika sea area , north of the island of Gossa .

The fishing villages of Nordre Bjørnsund and Søre Bjørnsund are located on the islands . In the northern part of the archipelago is the island of Moøya , on which the Bjørnsund lighthouse is located. Some of the island are connected to each other by bridges.

Fishing was of great economic importance for the islands. Bjørnsund was also of central importance due to its location on important waterways. In 1930 there were 616 people on the islands. However, as part of the modernization of the fishing industry, the economic situation changed. A centralization policy was pursued by the state, with which uneconomical locations should be given up. Another problem was the lack of drinking water on the islands. In 1971 it was decided to give up the islands as permanent residence.

The houses on the island are now used as summer houses. In Nordre Bjørnsund there is a school camp for around 1,500 young people in spring and autumn. There is a summer café on the town's quay. There is a regular boat connection to and from Bud during the summer holidays.
