Gossa is a district of the municipality of Muldestausee in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Until the new formation of the unified community Muldestausee on January 1, 2010, Gossa was an independent community in the administrative community Muldestausee-Painbach . The last mayor of Gossa was Waldemar Dombek.

Gossa with the district of pain (incorporated on July 1, 1950) lies between Dessau-Roßlau and Leipzig on the edge of the Dübener Heide .

history

The place belonged to the Electoral Saxon Office Bitterfeld until 1815 . The coat of arms was designed in 1992 by the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch and included in the approval process. It reflects the etymological reference to the Slavic names of both districts: Old Sorbian Gossa (spelling gosov ) = blackbird; Pain (spelling smards ) = spruce. In 1435 the spelling of Gossa = gossaw , in 1456 of pain = smorcz .

Buildings

The village church was built in the Romanesque style. It is equipped with an organ by the well-known master organ builder Johann Andreas Zuberbier . The property in pain belonged to the Altpouch- based line of the Counts of Solms-Sonnewalde .

Transport links

Bundesstraße 100 from Bitterfeld to Graefenhainichen runs directly through the village .
