Schwemsal [ ˈʃvɛmzaːl ] is a district of the community Muldestausee in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt . The district of Schwerz belonged to the community.
geography
Schwemsal is located between Leipzig and Wittenberg in the Düben Heath .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1394. The alum factory "God my hope", founded in 1560, was located in Schwerz . In the Thirty Years War the place and the factory were completely destroyed. At Schwemsal there was a royal alum factory , which in 1822 consisted of nine houses with 248 residents.
Schwemsal and Schwerz belonged to the Electoral Office of Düben until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna they came to Prussia and were in 1816 the district Bitterfeld in the administrative district of Merseburg of Saxony Province allocated to which they belonged to the 1944th
Since January 1, 2010, the formerly independent community Schwemsal has been part of the unified community Muldestausee. The former municipality belonged to the administrative community Muldestausee-Malerbach .

- Gutsscheune, an event location built in 2003 in the historical half-timbered style
- The village church was rebuilt in 1768, the tower was renovated in 1826 according to a standard template by Karl Friedrich Schinkel , and exterior and interior renovations were also required in recent years.
