Dirk Reichl

Dirk Reichl (born September 12, 1981 in Kühlungsborn ; † September 15, 2005 ) was a German cyclist .

1997 Dirk Reichl became German junior champion in cyclo-cross racing ; two years later he won the Tour du Basse-Gaulaine junior race . In 2000 and 2001 he took second place in Rund um den Henninger-Turm in the U23 race. In 2001 he also won a stage of An Post Rás .

Reichl was a member of the Telekom junior team from 2001 and switched to the elite team in 2002. There he could not assert himself, however. After two years, his contract was not renewed and he ended his career.

On the night of September 15, 2005, Reichl was killed in a motorcycle accident near Oldenburg.
