The Bjelland Bay is a large bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It is west of Bjelland Point and northeast of Atherton Peak .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013 based on the headland of the same name. Its namesake is Sigurd L. Bjelland, from 1951 manager of the South Georgia Whaling Company at the Leith Harbor whaling station for several years .
