Black Heaven is a German music project in the field of electropop .

background

Black Heaven was founded in 2001 by the German musician and artist Martin Schindler. A year earlier, Schindler had launched the metal project Mantus . With Black Heaven he wanted to implement the idea of working more with electronic elements than is possible with a metal project. Atmospherically , the music can be found in the black scene , where most of the fans can be found.

As with Mantus, singer Tina Schindler (“Thalia”), sister of Martin Schindler, is part of the project in order to be able to realize alternating singing with a female voice. All instruments and electronic sounds are recorded by Martin Schindler. Black Heaven are pure studio productions, so there are no live performances.

Regarding the choice of the band name, Schindler says: “In general, when it comes to band names, it is always important to me that the corresponding name captures the atmosphere of the music and perhaps can also reproduce it. With Black Heaven, it's simply the metaphor of a black, empty sky. And this is what this music embodies: hopelessness, loneliness and godlessness. "

music

Ballads alternate with powerful pieces. In addition to synthesizer elements and a generally more electronic orientation, metal elements such as electric guitars or hip-hop influences (e.g. in Seelenlos ) can be found in the pieces. The focus is usually on a concise beat in 4/4 time, which is why some pieces also have similarities with future pop .
