Black Island ( English for Black Island ) is an approximately 300 m long island off the Kiev Peninsula on the Graham Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately southwest of the island of Skua Island in the group of Argentine islands of the Wilhelm Archipelago , from which it is separated by the Black Island Channel .
The island was mapped and named descriptively in 1935 during the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill .
