Black September is an American death metal band from Chicago , Illinois that was formed in 2006.
history
The band was founded in 2006 by guitarist Chris McMorrow and singer Jen Pickett and released their first demo the following year. In the following years further EPs were released, as well as a split release with Thou , whereby the line-up around MxMorrow and Pickett changed several times. In 2010 the debut album The Forbidden Gates Beyond was released by Shaman Records and Iconoclast Records . The band had also played concerts with Unearthly Trance , Skeletonwitch , Javelina , Masakari and Magrudergrind . After further appearances, the band recorded their next album Into The Darkness Into The Void at Bricktop Studios under the direction of Andy Nelson . The album was released on Prosthetic Records in 2012 .

The band plays classic death metal that is comparable to the music of Bolt Thrower , Dissection and Bathory .
