Blaggers ITA was an Oi! And punk band from the United Kingdom .
history
Members of the Anti-Fascist Action founded "the Blaggers" in 1988 to raise money for the organization and to spread their anti-fascist ideas. In 1993 the band signed a contract with EMI and thereby also made it into the top 50 of the British charts. In 1994 EMI canceled the contract because the band, despite their clearly anti-fascist opinion, which has often led to confrontations with right-wing extremists , were considered right-wing extremists due to their appearance as skinheads . After EMI had terminated the contract, Matty "Blag" Roberts left the band in 1995 and the remaining band members continued for a year or two. Roberts died in 2000.
Since 2001 Blaggers has been playing again at irregular intervals as a kind of reunion band project.
