Blagoj Veselinov

Blagoj Veselinov (born February 27, 1984 in Kočani ) is a Macedonian film and theater actor .

Life

Blagoj Veselinov was born in Kočani in what is now North Macedonia in 1984 . He is a graduate of the Faculty of Drama in Skopje , directed by Professor Vladimir Milchin, has appeared in more than 50 theater roles and is a member of the Macedonian National Theater ensemble.

His first film role was in the drama As If I Am Not There directed by Juanita Wilson. He played Kosta in the war drama Osloboduvanje na Skopje by Danilo Sherbedzija and Rade Sherbedzija from 2016, in which Skopje is occupied by the Germans. In the thriller Vsi proti vsem by Andrej Kosak he played a larger role Bojan, in Grandfather and Grandson by Piperkoski Ilija, which was released in North Macedonian cinemas in December 2019, he took on a supporting role.

In the black comedy Tajni sastojak (also Iscelitel ), the directorial debut of Gjorce Stavreski and the North Macedonian contribution as the best foreign language film at the 2019 Academy Awards , he took on the lead role of Vele, whose father with cancer cannot afford expensive drugs, which is why he chose him Steals marijuana and bakes hash cakes for him from now on. Soon, however, the neighbors also want the recipe for the cake. He then got a role in the science fiction film M by Vardan Tozija.

Veselinov was named European Shooting Star at the Berlinale 2019 .
