Blaise Nicolas Le Sueur (born October 29, 1714 in Paris , † January 19, 1783 in Berlin ) was a French painter and director of the Royal Prussian Academy of the Arts .

Blaise Nicolas Le Sueur was the son of the Parisian painter Nicolas Le Sueur (1691–1764) and a student of Jean-Baptiste van Loo . In 1751 he was appointed director of the Berlin Art Academy. Since the academy building burned down in 1742, lessons took place in the teachers' apartments. The reconstruction ordered by Friedrich II. In 1745 proceeded very slowly. It was not until 1770 that the academy was able to return to its old headquarters in the stables .

Le Sueur left behind few pictures but many drawings . Le Sueur's students included a. Friedrich Anton August Lohrmann , Philipp Hackert , Paul Joseph Bardou , Johann Michael Siegfried Lowe , Heinrich Gottlieb Eckert (1751–1817) and Johann Carl Felber (1743–1768) as well as his successor as director of the Bernhard Rode Academy .
