Blake is a Finnish stoner metal band from Helsinki .
history
The band was founded in Helsinki in 2001 and played at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Finland in 2004 . In 2006 another important appearance followed at Sauna Open Air , also in Finland. The band gained greater fame in 2009 as an opener for Motörhead and AC / DC .
In terms of style, Blake says he is based on the guitar playing of the seventies with some progressive elements and of course the elements of the blues that are typical for the genre . Thematically, the songs often deal with the conflict between good and evil as well as astronomical topics. Her influences include bands like Black Sabbath , Monster Magnet , Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull .
Blake has been under contract with the Finnish label Hype Records since November 2010 .
