Blanka of Navarre (born July 6, 1387 - April 1, 1441 in Santa María la Real de Nieva , Castile ) was Queen of Navarre from 1425 to 1441 .

Life

Blanka was the daughter of King Charles III. of Navarre and Eleanor of Castile .

In 1402 she married Martin I the boy , King of Sicily , son and heir of Martin I of Aragon, her first marriage . This made Blanka Queen of Sicily; the marriage remained childless. After Martin's death in 1409, she was made regent of Sicily.

In 1420 Blanka married John of Aragón , the second son of King Ferdinand I , who became King of Navarre through this marriage as John II and, in 1458, through the death of his older brother Alfonso V, also King of Aragon .

After their death, John retained the Kingdom of Navarre without having any right to do so, passing over the legal heirs, their common children:
