Santa María la Real de Nieva is the capital of the municipality of the same name; he belongs to the Campiña Segoviana in the Spanish province of Segovia , Castile-León .
The municipality consists of 14 localities: Aragoneses, Balisa, Hoyuelos, Jemenuño, Laguna Rodrigo, Miguel Ibañez, Ochando, Pascuales, Pinilla-Ambroz, Santa María la Real de Nieva, Santovenia, Paradinas, Tabladillo and Villoslada.
A son of the place is the bishop, historian and political theorist Rodrigo Sánchez de Arévalo (1404-1470).
