Attractions

Romanesque capital
  • The parish church ( Iglesia de San Miguel Arcángel ) is originally a late Romanesque building from the 13th century, of which the apse integrated into the mighty substructure of the tower has been preserved; the actual church building was renewed in the 18th century, with the open south porch ( portico or galería porticada ) also belonging to the original building stock being closed. While the medieval tower is made of precisely assembled house stones, the north wall of the nave and the baroque parts - with the exception of the portal and the corner stones - were built from rubble and then plastered. Inside there is a Romanesque baptismal font ( pila bautismal ) as well as two deeply worked capitals ; the apse is blocked by a baroque altarpiece . During restoration work, two more Romanesque capitals - walled up in the Baroque period - were uncovered, which are now exhibited in the square in front of the church.
ruined ermitas
  • The Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Río is dedicated to the patron saint of the place; It is a new building in which older parts have been integrated - e.g. B. three medieval console figures .
  • On both sides above the Río Duratón are the remains of two other, but in ruins, hermit chapels.
